Phenergan - antiallergic, antihistaminic, sedative, antiemetic, antipruritic, sedative, local anesthetic remedy.
Phenergan is competitively blocking H1-histamine receptors; has antiexudative, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, local anesthetic action. Decreases capillary permeability, swelling of the mucous membranes, itching. Has adrenolytic, moderate peripheral and central cholinolytic effect. Inhibits histamine-N-methyltransferase, blocks central histamine H3-receptors. Depresses the central nervous system, has sedative , anxiolytic , antipsychotic and sedative effect, lowers body temperature.
Indications for use:
Allergic eczema, exudative diathesis, rash, urticaria and other allergic skin reactions to drugs and chemicals, allergic conjunctivitis, itching, allergic rhinitis, wasps' stings, bees, bumblebees, serum sickness, angioedema, false croup, atopic bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, anaphylactoid and anaphylactic reactions (in the complex therapy), rheumatic fever with severe allergic component; dizziness, meniere's syndrome, nausea and vomiting, motion sickness syndrome; trigeminal neuralgia, anxiety, neuroses, psychoses, migraine.
Peroral adult's daily dose is 75-100 mg. Maximum dose: single reception - 75 mg, daily - 500 mg. Children aged 1 to 2 years are appointed 5-10 mg taken 1-2 times/day; from 2 to 5 years - 5-10 mg taken 1-3 times/day ; from 5 to 10 years - 5-15 mg 1-3 times/day; 10 years and older (and adolescents) - 5-20 mg 1-3 times/day.
